Is God Relevant in a Technological Society?
Wayne, PA: People everywhere wonder about the relevance of God and what their identity and purpose are. National speaker, Mary Alice Rose, says, “Prayer and my relationship with God play such an important role in my happiness and well-being that I couldn’t imagine a scenario in which I would find no need for them.”
Rose will present a talk titled, “Has technology made God and spirituality obsolete?” on Saturday, November 17th, 2pm at the Radnor Memorial Library114 W. Wayne Avenue, Wayne, PA 19087.
“In this lecture I explore how my own relationship with God has served as a foundation for addressing this question from a number of angles,” says Rose. “I will share several examples illustrating the relevance of God and spirituality in a technological society, including examples from my experience working on the Hubble Space Telescope project.”
Rose’s ideas are based on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, and as discussed in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
Rose’s interest in science and technology led to a 20-year career in different areas of applied physical science. Her work ranged from a meteorologist for the National Severe Storms Laboratory to a manager developing the ground system for the Hubble Space Telescope. As interesting as her career was, Rose found that she wanted more time to focus on her most rewarding scientific endeavor: exploring her relationship with God. So, in 2002, she made the transition from manager, engineer, and earth scientist to the full-time ministry as a Christian Science practitioner. Now a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship, Rose travels from her home in Brookeville, Maryland.
This lecture is sponsored by area Christian Science churches.

Living in Abundance
Learn about spiritual abundance and its benefits
Berwyn, PA: — Have you ever worried about having enough money, security, love, or health? International speaker Evan Mehlenbacher says, “I’ve found that understanding abundance from a spiritual point of view dissolves fears and brings healing to my life.”
“Understanding true abundance can conquer lack, distress, and disease,” says Mehlenbacher, a teacher and practitioner of Christian Science healing. “Spirituality, lived and expressed, brings wisdom, love, joy, and mental freedom, and enables one to make wiser decisions, form happier relationships and stay healthy.”
Mehlenbacher will present a free talk titled, “Living in Abundance” on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center, One Liberty Blvd, Malvern, PA (610-296-9800). Mehlenbacher says his own experience in the family farming business after graduating from Stanford helped him see abundance in a new way. On the fast track to success, he decided that the ultimate reward life had to offer was more than money in the bank. “Living for a spiritual purpose brings the greatest joy,” he claims. Mehlenbacher left the business and went into the full-time ministry of helping others find spiritual healing.
“Come and explore how true abundance starts not with a larger pay check, but with spiritual mindedness,” says Mehlenbacher. “This change of focus leads to the strength, health, wisdom, and supply that enable one to experience life’s finest joys.”
Mehlenbacher’s ideas are based on the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, and as discussed in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
Mehlenbacher is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. He travels from his home in Richland, Washington, USA.
